SBO Nilda Pinto Curaçao pledges to incorporate Sustainable Development Goals in its overall vision, strategy, and school DNA starting 18 January 2023 during its first 'Nilda Pinto SDG Village' themed 'Working towards a more sustainable world'.
Nilda Pinto SDG Village features over 25 local organizations and individuals actively contributing to achieving SDGs in Curaçao. Partners in this SDG Village showcase 'why' and 'how' they are committed to contributing to SDGs. Students and educators in the Nilda Pinto community get informed about and become aware of the practical implementation and impact of the SDGs. Thanks to the glimpse they get of the 'why' behind the participants' commitment to the SDGs, the Nilda Pinto community gets to reflect on how all of this relates to themselves as either young vocational professionals-in-training or educators.
Participants aim to trigger a mindset and attitude that contributes to the sustainable development of the community. The SDG Village is a step forward towards bridging the awareness and knowledge gap between the SDGs and the youth and educators. Nilda Pinto students and educators are offered a whole range of opportunities toward better community engagement, sustainability mindset, career opportunities, and better personal well-being. With this event, the organizers and exhibitors seek to activate especially the youth and those in charge of their development as part of their social responsibility through formal education and informal learning opportunities and acquiring skills.
