Join the certified and ETS-aligned course to strengthen youth workers competences in cooperating in international teams through experiential and outdoor education, focusing on team processes, conflict management and collegial learning.

Awero team and its partners are offering a 5th modular training for youth workers, aligned to the European Training Strategy (ETS) competence model.


Objectives

The training course will contribute to the development of youth workers’ competencies in the area of “Collaborating in teams”*:
  • Awareness of the team processes and how they affect the team’s effectiveness
  • Ability to build team spirit and trust
  • Ability to match team member competences to the objectives of the activity
  • Managing disagreements constructively
  • Encouraging and involving other team members
  • Learning with and from team members.

*“Collaborating in teams” means that the youth worker contributes to team work and maintains good working relations with everyone involved with the project. The youth worker motivates and supports colleagues in achieving given objectives. This competence area also includes systemic cooperation and responsibility in an international context.


Highlights of this training activity

  • This course is part of the Erasmus+ long-term accreditation programme implemented by NGO Awero together with it’s partners. More about the programme: https://awero.org/en/ets-modular-trainings-and-certfication
  • Aligned to the ETS competence model for Youth Workers - the course objectives and content are aligned with professional youth workers’ competences in international youth work settings
  • Certified training - the broad coalition of partners will create opportunities for the course participants to assess, validate and recognise competence development at the international level and in specific countries (if possible).
  • Digital friendly - the training and competence assessment methodology and activities will include using digital tools and platforms, for example, YouthWorkPathways.net platform and digital Open Badges.
  • Long-term development opportunity - participants willing to continue to develop their professional youth work competences will be invited to apply for the upcoming training courses on other competence areas.
  • Endorsed by the broad partnership of Cities of Learning members national youth worker associations and international organisations from the youth work field.

Preliminary training programme




Participants profile

This course is for people who are:
  • Youth workers**
  • Youth work managers
  • Youth centre directors
  • Youth programme and project managers
  • Directly involved in managing or supporting young people in managing international youth projects
  • Age: from 18 years.
  • Language: A sufficient level of English is necessary to participate in this course
  • Resident in one of the countries identified in the call.
**Youth worker is understood as someone who works with young people in a wide variety of non-formal and informal learning contexts, typically focusing on young people's personal and social development through one-on-one relationships and group-based activities.


Costs

Participation fee
To balance the training budget, we invite you to contribute a 50 euro participation fee, which will be deducted from the travel costs reimbursement. In justified cases, participants may request a discount or waive the contribution. Participation fee should not be a barrier to participation.

Accommodation and food
Board, lodging, local transportation and programme costs will be covered upon full participation in the course.

Travel reimbursement
This course is partially co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, and therefore, most of the costs will be covered by the organisers.

The following cost reimbursement rules will apply
Travel costs will be reimbursed based on the real costs, not exceeding the lump sums based on the travel distances, in Euro:
  • 10-99 km - 28 / green travel - 56
  • 100-499 km - 211/ green travel - 285
  • 500-1999 km - 309/ green travel 417
  • 2000-2999 km - 395/ green travel 535
  • 3000-3999 km - 580/ green travel 785

Only costs that are justified will be eligible for reimbursement. Local transfer costs will be 20-25 Euros. It will be included in the overall travel costs. If your travel exceeds the lump sums above, the remaining costs shall be borne by the participant or their sending organisation.
Participants may opt for the “green travel” options for a slightly higher travel budget. Please contact the organiser for more information about eligible green travel options.
Participants must obtain travel insurance covering travel irregularities (such as delays, cancellations, or missed connections) and unforeseen health-related expenses. The organisers will reimburse up to 20 EUR for the insurance. Costs arising from such situations cannot be covered if the participant has not obtained insurance.


Digital credentials and certification

  • This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges and https://youthworkpathways.net platform.
  • Participants can use the 360-degree competence assessment, earn digital badges, and receive certificates that prove their competence development.
  • Youthpass process and certificate will be offered to participants joining this training programme.
