This is a morning 30-minute warm-up activity that helps you to wake up all parts of your body, connect to yourself and start the day feeling relaxed and in peace, with the intention of the day on your mind.
It has two parts:
- Qigong exercise: Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade (about 20 minutes)
- Short meditation exercise: setting the intention (about 5 - 10 minutes)
Both parts focus on a different technique and different parts of you. Also, each part uses a different way to work with it.
Eight Pieces of Brocade
Find a quiet place where you have enough space to exercise for about 20 minutes, standing (enough space to spread your arms and legs). Follow the instructions in the video. Keep a slight smile and enjoy the slow movements connected to the breathing cycle.
Setting your intention for the day
Follow these instructions:
Place your left hand on your diaphragm and your right hand on your heart.
Soften your front, unclench your jaw and relax your shoulders.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out. Repeat several times.
Now imagine the day that is ahead of you and decide for yourself what is the intention you want to focus on and say it for yourself (I will .......)
Take one more deep breath in and breathe out quickly.
