Digital Competence and Capacity Explorer
This badge recognises your commitment to recognising, assessing, and developing digital competencies in youth work practice. It is awarded to youth workers and youth work managers who explore the activity content and resources and demonstrate an understanding of how digital competencies strengthen inclusion, participation, and innovation in youth work.
This badge aligns with the SNAC Digital Competences Framework for Youth Work, particularly within the following competence areas:
- Supporting Creative Self-Expression – developing practical digital skills and tools for youth engagement
- Shared Guidelines and Peer Learning – reflecting on and strengthening digital practice within teams
- Identity Growth – critically and ethically navigating digital environments as a youth work professional
Earning this badge demonstrates your capacity to assess your own digital competence development, apply digital skills responsibly and effectively, and contribute to strengthening digital practice within youth work.

To get this badge:
Complete the following steps:
- Identify three digital competences that are most relevant to your role and assess your current level in each.
- Describe at least two actions you will take to strengthen your digital skills and practices.
- Explain how developing these competences will improve inclusion, participation, or innovation in your youth work context.
Evidence: Submit a short digital or paper competence portfolio including:
- A self-assessment of the three selected competences
- A short reflection on strengths and development needs
- A concrete development plan with a timeline
- A brief explanation of how these competences improve inclusion, participation, or innovation in your work
